2022: Rampant Curiosity
A master rock guitarist friend commented that my paintings felt different this year. I said that they were not. We debated until I put it in terms compatible with his musical world. Same guitarist, same guitar, same sensibility, and style, but with new songs.
Continuity.
Same painter, same basic color palette, same sensibility, and mode, but with new images.
Continuity.
Old attractions as the history of art, the muse and assorted critters as populates my life and dreams. Painting the idea and not the thing. The thing as metaphor.
All in the futile effort to make the world my own.
